Rachel Andrews is the recipient of the FFF Dean's Leadership Award in Education. Rachel is currently completing her Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary) as a second degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. She hopes to become a full-time Elementary classroom teacher in the province thiscoming school year. Rachel comes from a long line of educators, including her mother, grandfather, cousins, aunts and uncles. This has given her the opportunity to appreciate the impact that teachers not only have on their students, but on their communities as a whole. Her journey toward leadership began as in middle school and she has continued to spend her educational career in various leadership positions; from middle school and then high school student President, to the Vice-President position with her campus residence, and now in the Presidential role in her Education Faculty. The time spent in these roles afforded her the opportunity to participate in various leadership conferences and volunteering experiences. In addition to volunteering in her hometown community of Clarenville, Rachel has both captained and coached many sports teams and extracurriculars. Working with the local CARA summer program was when Rachel truly realized where her passion lay- working with young children. She is caring, kind, and quickly builds a loving and trusting relationship with her students. One of Rachel’s teaching goals is to cultivate the same drive in her future students so they further develop their own leadership skills.

Fares Khalil is the recipient of the FFF Dean's Leadership Award in Engineering. Fares is a Computer Engineering student (class of 2025) from Alexandria, Egypt. He has been junior VP Academic and then senior VP Academic of the MUN Engineering Society. He represents MUN engineering students and ensure their voices are heard in faculty meetings.
