Amelia Dolimount Sellars Leadership Award in Women's Athletics
The Amelia (Dolimount) Sellars Leadership Award in Women’s Athletics is part of the Fry Family Foundation Awards program. The award was named in honour of Marlene Fry's mother and was created to recognize and encourage tomorrow’s great leaders. In the 1920’s, the school in Grand Bank was relatively modern, with a well-equipped gymnasium, and Amelia was a very proud member of the girls’ basketball team. She was a strong and capable woman who later moved to St. John’s to pursue employment and start a family..Awarded to a female student athlete who is a current member of a MUN varsity team who has demonstrated strong leadership skills, commitment to their sport and role of ambassadotin the community.
