It's unbelievable to me that the Fry Family Foundation has only been around for 20 years, given the tremendous impact they have had on my academic career. My name is Tristin Clarke, and I am a graduate of the Marine Environmental Technology program taught at the Fisheries and Marine Institute, and a proud Dr. Philip Warren Exceptional Achievement Scholarship recipient.
This scholarship aided me throughout my studies at Marine, and the Fry Family has been nothing short of caring, professional, and helpful throughout the three years of my program. Now, heading into my bachelor of engineering technology and applied science, I am once again receiving the scholarship renewal. With this, I have been provided a massive relief of financial concern or anxiety in such an uncertain time. The transparency and thoughtfulness the committee has had in the amount of the scholarships has also demonstrated a clear commitment to the intended purpose of the scholarship - to aid the student. The committee has held several sessions of input and feedback on the scholarship, and even increased the value of scholarships to keep up with the rapidly increasing fees and costs students face yearly, and I truly cannot state how much respect and admiration I have.
