Married for over 50 years, Darryl and Marlene Fry's shared values guided the Fry Family Foundation's culture and direction. They divide their time between Florida, New Mexico and Ontario. Darryl and Marlene maintain a strong commitment to the people of their home province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Their philanthropy reflects a deep-rooted sense of responsibility to give back to their community. Connectivity to the organizations they support and meeting with scholarship recipients was always important to the Frys. Learn more about Darryl and Marlene here.

To continue doing the great work of FFF, the Founders, after consultation with Board Members, believed that a restructure would provide an organization that would be more effective for future generations to serve their clients. The restructure consists of five separate Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and an advisory organization to replace FFF. The Fry Family Foundation was dissolved as the first step to this restructure. Darryl and Marlene both retired from the Fry Family Foundation in 2025.
Board of Trustees
Fry Family Foundation was governed by an all-volunteer Board, comprised of friends and three generations of family members who set policy and ensure the Foundation's good governance. Many of the Trustees are also volunteers with the organizations which receive support from the Foundation. Fry Family Foundation was fully funded by Darryl and Marlene Fry and their family. It was a 'zero expense' organization, for which we are all very proud. Aggressive investing and a no-expense operation permitted the Foundation to grow rapidly in assets and contributions to partners. Through the DAFs, the Foundation will continue to support initiatives in communities where the Trustees live. Our communities include Newfoundland & Labrador, Ontario, Florida, New Jersey, New Mexico and Colorado.

Fry Family Foundation Canada – Dedicated to Leadership, Diversity, Education, Community Development and Nature Preservation. Directed by Paul, Marie and Erin Burt, St John’s, NL.
Cheryl E. Fry Foundation – Dedicated to Education of low-income girls, particularly in Math, and filling the cracks in society such as with Girls Inc. Directed by Cheryl E. Fry, Santa Fe, NM. FLF Blue Foundation (Fry, Lee, Ferguson) - Dedicated to Ocean, River and Mountain conservation. Directed by Jacqueline April Fry Lee, Salida, CO. Fry Cronin Foundation – The Fry’s and the Cronin’s have been doing things together for almost 35 years and would like to enhance and continue that work. Dedicated to Florida special projects, matching funds with the Cronin Family Foundation at organizations such as Crossover as well as legacy projects showing respect for former business associates, such as YWCA Northern NJ HealingSPACE. Directed by Darryl Fry. Fry Family Foundation USA -Dedicated to inclusion for handicapped adults such as with The Haven of Sarasota, along with the four foundations above. Directed by Marlene and Darryl Fry. |
FFF Advisors – An advisory committee was also established. This Not-for-Profit organization is dedicated to advising the five independent organizations above on request, along with other chosen clients with regard to business, investing, tax and estate planning. Advisors will be Gerry and Judy Repple; Jim and Diana Cronin; and Marlene and Darryl Fry.
