Fry Family Foundation co-founders, Darryl and Marlene Fry, enjoyed living in Luling, Louisiana for 4 years and have continued to return to the area. Darryl Fry worked at a number of chemical plants and ran many different businesses during his career. In 2013 Darryl wrote, "Whenever I became part of a new group or was responsible for leading a new business the first thing I endeavoured to do was - get to know the real leaders. These three people were not very high up on the organization chart of the American Cyanamid Fortier Chemical Plant, but they were the real leaders at this 800-employee complex. They helped me a lot when I was working there and later convinced the rest of the 20 unions in Cytec Industries to support me when I became CEO. I was very fortunate to get to know these gentlemen in my corporate life. They were the best at what they did and I wanted to personally honor them with these scholarships."
