Community Partnerships - NL
End Sexual Violence NL is a non-profit, community-based, charitable organization that exists to support individuals of all genders who have been impacted by sexual violence. They operate from a feminist, pro-choice, trauma-informed, person-centered perspective where individuals with lived experienced are honoured for their unique strengths, needs, skills, and abilities. Learn more about their programs and services on their website.
In 2024, Fry Family Foundation renewed this past partnership and will be providing funds to support the Reconnecting Body and Mind(RBM) program. RBM is a free weekly skill-building and peer support group for people impacted by sexual violence. The trauma-informed sessions include movement classes, mental health workshops, nature walks, art, and nutritious cooking classes. Each week, participants leave the workshop with a new skill and/or a physical gift to commemorate their experience and encourage future skill practice. The safe and supportive setting allows survivors to focus on their skill building and promotes social connection. RBM is designed with accessibility in mind including transportation, child care stipends, and open registration, meaning that participants are not required to attend each session, and new people may register at any time.
