A Journey in Which There Is No End
I have completed my second master's degree in Education, specializing in Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning, at MUN (Memorial University of Newfoundland) under the supervision of Dr. Dorothy Vaandering. Through conducting an autoethnographic study of my personal journey, I aimed to gain a deeper understanding of my past experiences and my current choice to focus my career on becoming an educator. This endeavor ultimately led to the creation of a piece titled "The Personal Quest of a Teacher Grappling with the Question of Identity."
In addition, I have actively participated in a variety of extracurricular activities, including conferences, presentations, teaching skill enhancement programs, and community services. These involvements primarily revolved around working with undergraduate and international students at MUN and assisting newcomers at the Association for New Canadians, where I currently serve as an ESL instructor; a position that became a pivotal point in my professional journey, allowing me to teach the knowledge and skills I acquired during the past year as a newcomer in this country to my newcomer students.
Moreover, in the period before I became a full-time ESL Instructor, I worked at ANC a volunteer interpreter/translator, helping Afghani Refugees in many circumstances, such as emergency hospital situations, clinical appointments, legal aid appointments, and provincial and supreme court sessions.
Prior to pursuing my master's degree in Education at Memorial University, I earned a four-year bachelor's degree in Physics, followed by a master's degree in the same field in my home country, Iran. Furthermore, I obtained another four-year bachelor's degree in English Literature from Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU). I feel honored to have received two undergraduate awards during my time at ATU, and I have also been recognized with two additional awards from the Faculty of Education and the School of Graduate Studies at MUN: the Faculty of Education Dean's Graduate Award and the esteemed title of Fellow of the School of Graduate Studies, respectively.

Khatereh Bahmanpour shared her thoughts about Standing on the edge... "I wrote these lines a year ago while I was in the middle of writing my portfolio, "The Personal Quest of a Teacher Grappling with the Question of Identity," which required me to examine my own identity."
