Fry Family Foundation Junior Leadership Award, 2011
As a junior high student, receiving the Fry Family Foundation Junior Leadership Award at such a young age set me on a path to academic success throughout high school and university.
I was only 14 years old when I received this award, and it was the first scholarship for which I’d ever applied. Today, 14 years later, I still remember the feeling of joy when notified that I had been selected. Not only did receiving this scholarship assist me financially with my education, but it also showed me at a young age the rewards that can come along with working hard, striving to be a leader, and showing a dedication to the community.
The Fry Family Foundation Junior Leadership Award inspired me to always try my best and push myself beyond my perceived limits. I am proud to say that as I got older, throughout my high school and university years, I was successful in receiving several other scholarships by continuing to follow the principles that led me to the Fry Family Foundation Junior Leadership Award. I graduated from both my degree and diploma programs with a 4.0 GPA, which assisted me with a successful launch into my career.
I am grateful that this award helped pave the way to a fortunate and happy future for me. Thank you!
