Our MI Alumni
The Fry Family Foundation's support of Marine Institute began in 2006 with the establishment of a six year program for two entrance scholarships at the Marine Institute. The Fry Family Foundation Diploma of Technology Leadership Scholarship and the Fry Family Foundation Bachelor of Technology/Maritime Studies Leadership Scholarship were awarded to students from Newfoundland and Labrador who had shown leadership in various community organizations while maintaining a strong academic performance. Over that six year period 53 FFF scholarships were awarded at Marine Institute.
The Fry Family Foundation established the Leadership Awards at Marine Institute in 2016. These Awards celebrate and encourage the development of leadership qualities that can be applied in our communities, at work and in our classrooms. Since 2016, 39 FFF Leadership Awards have been presented to MI students. Below are some of their stories.
